Bethan Catherine Watts is a MRHistS. historian, author and academic who specialises in the history of childhood and domesticity. She works for the Children's History Society, and is a member of The Society for the Study of Childhood in the Past (SSCIP). She is an elected member of the Royal Historical Society (RHS).

A PhD researcher at the University of Wales, Trinity Saint David, Bethan's doctoral thesis explores how children lived in Late Medieval England. She has written widely about childhood in the Middle Ages, and regularly shares information about her projects on her academic research profiles. She is the creator of the blog A History of Childhood with Bethan Catherine Watts, as well as its accompanying podcast which streams on Spotify and YouTube.

Bethan has also written about the Early Modern era and the nineteenth and twentieth centuries in Britain. She has written three books and has authored a number of academic research journals.

Bethan is a frequent contributor to popular public history outlets, including the BBC's Who Do You Think You Are? Magazine, HistoryHit's Not Just the Tudors podcast, and the Living Medieval Magazine.
Bethan is an elected judge for the BBC's 500 Words competition, which encourages children aged 5-11 to write their own pieces of fiction.
